To celebrate the home entertainment release of Jurassic World, Universal Pictures (UK) and Premier teamed up to create a life-sized mosasaurus installation, for a literally ground-breaking stunt. Premier recreated the mosasaurus, as featured in the film, devouring a giant shark on London’s Southbank with the prehistoric creature bursting out by the banks of the Thames, much to the surprise of passers-by. The sculpture stood at an impressive 7 metres tall and was unveiled by producer Frank Marshall who said at the launch: “It’s incredible to see the mosasaurus come to life here in London. It is the biggest creature brought to life on screen in all the Jurassic films and the detail in which it has been created here today is just jaw-dropping.”
The hugely ambitious stunt generated a large amount of press across TV, print and online including Good Morning Britain, ITV Wales, MTV, Evening Standard, Reuters, Digital Spy and many more and helped the title become one of the biggest sellers of the year.
In addition to the mosasaurus stunt, Premier also created an international touring experience around Jurassic World's velociraptors, which was first spotted at London’s Waterloo Station. The 'Make a Pratt of Yourself' tour gave the public in key cities the chance to put themselves in Chris Pratt's shoes in one of the film's most iconic scenes, taming the raptors. A full touring enclosure was created, which brought the experience to life in retail sites in Birmingham, Manchester and Newcastle. Premier then also played their part in touring the raptors around Europe, including stops in Milan, Berlin and at Paris Comicon.
