Assistant Publicist – Arts and Culture

Our client roster is a who’s who of the most influential businesses in entertainment and culture. We are looking for someone wanting to take their first step in their public relations career to join our Arts & Culture team, specialising in arts, culture and media public relations.
Job function
To support the Associate Director and Executive Director on several retained clients in the arts, media and entertainment sectors, and support the wider team with general office management and admin tasks.
The right candidate
We are looking for a versatile and ambitious junior candidate to become a key member of a fast-growing team within Premier. The successful candidate will work closely with the Associate Director on a range of exciting and varied clients. This is an entry level position, but we are open to hearing from anyone who is looking for a career change into the PR industry, with a passion for arts and culture.
Key tasks (Client Accounts)
- Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of all the accounts you are across
- Participate in brainstorms for campaigns and undertake research for proposals
- Distribute to clients/team director and archive press cuttings
- Collate client reports as required
- Write and distribute client meeting notes and actions and manage internal filing systems
- Distribute press releases/assets and carry out media sell-ins as directed by the account team to secure news, previews, reviews, competitions and features
- Keep abreast of entertainment, arts, consumer, music media personnel moves/changes and update database accordingly (including arts/consumer/entertainment/music reporters, listings editors, picture editors, influencers, bloggers, website editors etc)
- Develop and maintain a broad knowledge – and take an active interest in – Arts, Entertainment and Media (i.e., monitoring media)
- Develop key contacts across traditional media, websites and social channels (including influencers) and acquire up to date knowledge of deadlines and PR feature opportunities
- Proactively manage feature placements for clients, and all previews/listings, reviews and competition placements on accounts
- Pro-actively foster relationships with third parties to assist in creating campaigns
- Support the Associate Director in writing press materials and managing press events for clients
Key tasks (Office Management support)
- Create research documents as directed by the Associate Director and/or Director
- Manage the Arts & Culture team’s filing systems
- Support in arranging meetings for the Director and/or Associate Director as appropriate
- Deal or forward emails and enquiries (in other team members’ absence) as appropriate
Key tasks (Company-wide)
- Follow all house systems and styles
- Ensure the contact database is up to date and inform all staff of any key media changes
- Occasional Premier Group assistance as requested by Directors
Working hours and London
This is a full-time hybrid role, based 3 days a week in our central London office (usually Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays but subject to change depending on meetings). Some out of hours will be required on occasion.
