Zurich Film Festival (ZFF)

Premier handles international publicity for the Zurich Film Festival working alongside the ZFF in-house team, supporting on all aspects of the Festival’s publicity but with a focus on international (non-Swiss) press.

The 15th edition of the festival took place from September 26-October 6, 2019. The programme features the ZFF Series Competition section for Best International TV Series alongside three Competition film strands: International films from first, second and third time directors; International documentaries from first, second and time third directors and Focus for Swiss, German and Austrian films and documentaries. Other festival strands include Gala Premieres, Special Screenings, New World Section, Border Lines, Window to the World, TVision and a Children’s Films section.

The winner of the International Feature Film Competition was SOUND OF METAL by Darius Marder with David Zonana awarded Best Director for MANO DE OBRA / WORKFORCE. Nora Fingscheidt’s SYSTEMSPRENGER took home the award in the Focus: Switzerland, Germany, Austria Competition category. COLLECTIVE directed by Alexander Nanau won the Award for Best International Documentary Film and JUST FOR TODAY by Nir Bergman and Ram Nehari took away the prize for Best International TV Series. The Audience Award was presented to VOLUNTEER by Anna Thommen and Lorenz Nufer.

Filmmakers and guests who attended the festival included: Cate Blanchett, Kristen Stewart, Javier Bardem, Oliver Stone, Roland Emmerich, Julie Delpy, Daniel Bruhl, Donald Sutherland, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Mark Rylance.

ZFF also hosted the Film Summit, an industry event covering finance, converging media, debates on topical issues and top level networking events over two days.
