Zurich Film Festival (ZFF)

Premier handles international publicity for the Zurich Film Festival working alongside the ZFF in-house team, supporting on all aspects of the Festival’s publicity with a focus on international (non-Swiss) press.

The 17th edition of the festival took place from 23 September to 3 October 2021. The programme featured three Competition film strands: International films from first, second and third time directors; International documentaries from first, second and time third directors and Focus for Swiss, German and Austrian films and documentaries. Other festival strands include Gala Premieres, Special Screenings, New World Section, Border Lines, Hastag #letSEXplore and a Kid’s Films section.

Golden Eye awards went to LA MIF / THE FAM by Fred Bailif (Focus Competition), A CHIARA by Jonas Carpignano (Feature Film Competition) and LIFE OF IVANNA by Renato Borrayo Serrano (Documentary Film Competition). The Children's Jury prize went to LE LOUP ET LE LION by Gilles de Maistre while the Audience Award went to YOUTH TOPIA by Dennis Stormer and the Emerging Swiss Talent Award (Critics’ Award) went to AZOR by Andreas Fontana.

Filmmakers and guests who attended the festival included: Todd Haynes, Ana Lily Amirpour, Paolo Sorrentino, Jacques Audiard, Paul Schrader and Sharon Stone who received the Golden Icon Award the Festival’s highest honour.

Alongside the festival the ZFF Summit took place over two days, an industry event covering finance, converging media, debates on topical issues and top-level networking events.
