BFI Gothic Season
1 September 2013

Premier is proud to have produced the official trailer for the BFI Gothic season, which comes to audiences across the UK on 21 October.
The trailer shows that gothic is much more than horror, it’s sexy AND dangerous, an enticing blend of horror and romance and something weirdly British. Dracula, Frankenstein and Dr Jekyll all spring from the pens of British writers and are three of the most filmed characters in film and TV. In fact the British discovered sex in Technicolor, thanks to sexy, upper class brute Dracula. Before that we had Anna Neagle. There is something for everyone, from Harry Potter and Twilight fans to 50 Shades of Grey readers to hard core horror enthusiasts, we have something for everyone: zombies, vampires, witches and Satanists, bad boy heroes and Christmas ghost stories. The dark side is all here on the big screen, on dvd and at bfi.org.uk.
BFI Creative Director Heather Stewart, said of the trailer,
"We are thrilled with the pace of our Gothic trailer and how it teases and tempts the audience – I have seen it now with young audiences at both Camden and Holloway Odeons, and each time everyone stopped messing about, texting and talking, and was glued to the trailer. I hope this translates into new audiences for our Gothic films."
