The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016
18 January 2017

Continuing in our work as the global PR and social media agency for the Eurovision Song Contest, Premier has also been working on the slightly lesser known live spectacles of the Eurovision Family of Events. This year, alongside the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster PBS, Premier developed key communications and social PR strategies for the Junior Eurovison Song Contest 2016.
Valletta, Malta was the scenic setting for the competition, which saw singers aged 10 -15 from seventeen countries battle it out to be crowned the Junior Eurovison winner 2016. The show was packed full of talent from across the continent including Poli Genova, Destiny Chukunyere and the unmistakable duo JEDWARD. After an evening of outstanding performances, Mariam Mamadashvili from Georgia triumphed to win the 14th Junior Eurovision Song Contest trophy.
Premier’s role at the event included managing all media and press on a global level in addition to creating and delivering social media content to raise the profile of this truly international television spectacle. New social media tools such as Boomerang, 360 degree pictures and hyper lapse video were introduced to the Eurovison social platforms for the first time.
We now look forward to the Eurovision Song Contest itself which takes place in Kiev, Ukraine, in May, where again Premier will be managing all press and social media.
