Arts Alliance

Albion Media works for the world’s leading promoter of event cinema in coordinating the worldwide promotion of the Royal Opera House’s cinema broadcasts.

Working with promoters across the world on their PR campaigns, Albion Media’s knowledge and expertise in creating and implementing effective promotional campaigns contributed to the growth of the cinema network, increasing from 43 countries and 1,500 cinemas in the 2013/14 Season to 60 countries and nearly 2,000 cinemas during the 2014/15 Season. The most successful screening to date was Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland on 16 December 2014 which attracted an audience, for both live and encore screenings, of more than 70,000 in the UK alone and 128,000 internationally. Swan Lake on 17 March 2015 was #1 in the UK box office and trended worldwide on Twitter.

Among the many events that Albion Media has organised with the Royal Opera House for Arts Alliance are a breakfast with Bryn Terfel that was hosted by Simon Millward and included journalists from across Europe and season launches in London and other European cities.

Albion Media has coordinated and facilitated interviews for journalists from around the world with senior personnel at the Royal Opera House, including Kasper Holten and Kevin O’Hare, and their leading artists including Antonio Pappano, Plácido Domingo, Anna Netrebko, Carlos Acosta, Anne Sofie von Otter, Marianela Nuñez and Sarah Lamb.

Recent work for Arts Alliance has expanded from its Royal Opera House brief to include securing major coverage in Germany and the UK for Jonas Kaufmann’s Puccini recital at La Scala, Milan. Albion Media invited journalists to this concert from both countries and organised their time in Milan which included interviewing Kaufmann the following day. Albion Media will promote the broadcast in cinemas of this concert later in the year when it’s shown in countries around the world.
