Genesis Foundation

The Genesis Foundation is the charity founded by John Studzinski to support and nurture young artistic talent through working with partner organisations.

Albion Media’s relationship with the Genesis Foundation began when the agency was appointed to publicise and market a concert of three commissions by the Foundation which took place at Westminster Cathedral in June 2008. Albion Media succeeded in selling-out the concert and the brief was then expanded to include: a complete re-writing and re-design of the Foundation’s website which it now maintains, creates content for and promotes; event management of all events presented by the Foundation; PR for the Foundation and its Chairman and Founder John Studzinski and general consultancy that has helped shape the way the Foundation operates and works with its partners.

Among the initiatives originated, run and promoted by Albion Media is the Genesis Prize. This biennial award of £20,000 recognises an exceptional artistic mentor who deserves wider recognition for their work. Albion Media’s work on the Genesis Prize has involved it working with leading figures in the art world including Julia Peyton-Jones, Richard Rogers, David Bailey and Janet Suzman who have acted as judges.

Albion Media works closely with the Foundation’s partners the Young Vic and Royal Court theatres, Harry Christophers & The Sixteen, New York’s Signature Theatre, the Chisenhale Gallery, LAMDA, Welsh National Opera and the Royal College of Art. To promote the programmes funded by the Genesis Foundation with these partners, Albion Media has promoted them in the national and specialist press, made promotional films, produced books and created and implemented social media campaigns.

Albion Media has been responsible for organising all aspects of the Foundation’s events, from concept to catering, guest lists to photography, stage production to speeches, and from venue hire to marketing & PR. Recent events include receptions and performances at the Victoria & Albert Museum, a big party at the Royal Court, a world premiere choral performance at LSO St Luke’s, a launch event for The Sixteen’s latest recording and an exhibition of new photography at a disused building in King’s Cross.

Albion Media’s brief also includes handling all of John Studzinski’s philanthropic PR which has recently included his joining the board of the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, a gala held in his honour by Barnard College, receiving the Prince of Wales Medal for Philanthropy and his work for Create, Human Rights Watch and charities focused on human trafficking. Interviews have been placed in the Financial Times and The Spectator, as well as appearances on BBC TV, Bloomberg, National Public Radio and several BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service programmes.
