Albion Media’s work as consultants working in a wide ranging capacity is exemplified by its work for Universal Music Group, the world’s largest music company.
Reporting directly to Max Hole, Chairman and CEO of UMGI, and Caryn Tomlinson, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications at Universal Music Group, Albion Media provides corporate PR consultancy and services across the company.
Albion Media has been involved in communication issues (specifically with the European Union’s Monopoly Commission) concerning Universal Music Group’s purchase of EMI Music; handling key artistic and executive signings and structural changes in the company; Max Hole’s PR for his activities in the classical music world (including his role on English National Opera’s board, his speech at the Association of British Orchestras’ conference, the Bristol Proms and interviews with leading publications and broadcasters) and running all aspects of press conferences for key artist signings or contract renewals.
Recent work has included Albion Media approaching publishers to secure an English language publisher for Rolando Villazón’s first novel and the organising and handling of all aspects of the international press for the launch of Daniel Barenboim’s new Steinway piano. This piano, designed by the Maestro, was launched by Albion Media at a press event at the Royal Festival Hall that achieved huge international coverage. Media covering the launch included BBC News at Ten, BBC Worldwide, CNN, Al Jazeera, the main TV broadcasters in Spain, Germany and France, most British broadsheets, BBC Radios 3 and 4, New York Times and publications as widespread as China, Australia and Brazil.
Albion Media also works with Dickon Stainer, President and CEO of Global Classics, on devising the communications strategy for this division of Universal Music that includes exploring new partnerships and business ventures for the company.
