The Stamping Ground

The Stamping Ground is a new stage musical based around the hit songs of Runrig – one of Scotland’s most beloved and iconic bands. An exciting partnership between Eden Court Highlands and Raw Material, the ambitious production premiered with a run at Eden Court, Inverness, in July 2022.

The Corner Shop have a long-standing working relationship with Eden Court and were engaged to run the show’s opening PR campaign.

The campaign targeted both national Scottish and UK outlets as well as local titles relevant to Inverness, and resulted in 118 hits across print and online. The news announcement of the premiere was picked up in titles including The Times, Scotsman, The National, Press & Journal, as well as the BBC and STV. The campaign ahead of the opening performance saw features and interviews with cast and creatives appear in The Herald, Scotsman, Sunday Post, Scotland on Sunday, The Stage, The National, and multiple features in local titles including the Inverness Courier, Press & Journal, and West Highland Free Press.

We organised access to the company and dress rehearsals for local broadcast crews, resulting in TV packages on STV and BBC News, radio pickup on BBC Scotland’s flagship news shows GMS and Drivetime, Gaelic coverage on BBC Naidheachdan, and interviews with cast and creatives on BBC Scotland’s Afternoon Show and Traveling Folk.

We also oversaw press trips for national critics to cover the show’s opening night, with multiple 4-star reviews carried in The Guardian, The Times, The Scotsman, The Stage, and others.

The Corner Shop also worked on The Stamping Ground’s national Scottish tour, which took the show to Inverness, Stirling, Edinburgh, Greenock, Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Perth in Spring 2023.
