The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic meant that the 2020 Cannes Film Festival couldn’t take place as normal.

Instead the UK Film Centre took part in a virtual Cannes Marché du Film Festival, which ran from 22-26 June 2020, showcasing UK films and co-productions, providing key information about the UK industry, facilities, services and locations. Overall providing a place for international professionals to connect with the UK, all online.

Premier’s Experiential team have worked with the BFI bringing the UK Film Centre to Cannes for the past 9 years. This year, the Experiential team worked closely with the Premier Creative team to design and build a virtual pavilion for the UK Film Centre ready for the virtual festival that launched on 22 June.

The team also worked on a supporting socials campaign and online advertising in order to promote the virtual pavilion and drive visitors to the UK Film webinars and to the weareukfilm website.
